Book Review of Live Life Deliciously by Tara Teaspoon

I’m an okay cook. I have definitely gotten better over the years. When I first got married, I cooked a lot of Hamburger Helper, mac n’ cheese, and Rice a Roni. Haha! I’m not bashing those things—we would have starved without them in those early days! Thankfully, I have learned a few things since then. That’s where cookbooks like Live Life Deliciously by Tara Teaspoon come in. When I have good resources, my family eats better.

Blurb:

“As a former food editor and stylist with Martha Stewart and food director of Ladies’ Home journal magazine, Tara knows how to create and showcase gorgeously themed meals for every lifestyle and occasion.

In her first cookbook, she shares more than 120 delicious showstopping recipes that are designed to impress and gather people together around food. From leisurely weekend brunches spent over burrata with grilled peaches and orange zest chimichurri to easy weeknight rice bowls with carrot-ginger dressing to a mouthwatering cherry crostata, Tara explains how to put together and master several special go-to dishes with global flavors to add to your repertoire.

Tara’s takes on classic recipes plus her innovative entertaining ideas and helpful tips are designed to encourage cooks to enjoy their time in the kitchen and incorporate new flavors, ingredients, and comforting-but-elevated meal ideas into their everyday cooking.

The book also includes a section where she provides a basic recipe which can then be easily transformed into two or three new recipes to make meal planning a breeze during busy weeknight schedules.

Live Life Deliciously with Tara Teaspoon shows foodies, both serious and casual, how to present food as an interesting and beautiful culinary experience with dishes that taste as delicious as they look.”

My Book Review:

As I said previously, I’m an okay cook. I usually use very basic ingredients. The recipes in this book look and sound delicious! Dill and Feta Orzo Salad; Easy Chicken and Biscuits with Honey Butter; Lemony Chicken and Charred-Artichoke Pasta; Marvelously Easy Thai Peanut Curry; Lemon-Butter Salmon with Herbs and Cucumber salad; Decadent Chocolate-Peanut Butter Whoopie Pies. They sound yummy, right?

I like the book’s organization. The lay-out is easy to read, the pictures are very well done and look tasty, and the recipes look delicious. Tara has some great tips for what to always have in your pantry. She also has tips on which kind of pots, knives, and kitchen gadgets to purchase.

The one drawback I have is that some of the recipes look too fancy for me. Haha! I told you I’m pretty basic. White bean salad with Italian tuna sounds delectable, but I don’t think it fits my family right now. Maybe I’ll try it anyway! At least I’d have a yummy dinner.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert, there is something in Live Life Deliciously for you!!
