My Book Review:

The Gentleman’s Confession is a fun story! I enjoyed it! This book includes some of my favorite tropes like friends to lovers and a belated love epiphany. The story is well written, flows well, and is easy to follow. I love the descriptions in this book and think they bring the story to life. The characters, though, make this story.

Jemma and Miles are the main characters. I liked both of them, but sometimes Jemma drove me crazy! She’s not very adept at reading other’s emotions or intentions. Or her own, actually. She is a fun character, though, and I think she’d make a fun friend.

Miles comes across as much more relatable to me than Jemma does. He’s down-to-earth; has a good, stable job; and doesn’t like the attention of all the would-be suitors that hang on his every word. He can be fun when he wants to be, but he’s also just a good, consistent friend. He puts up with a lot from Jemma and is very patient with her.

Have you ever had two friends that you know should be together? They like each other and would make a fantastic couple, but they don’t know it yet? Yeah. That’s these two. Sometimes you want to scream at them, “What are you doing????” Haha. No…I never scream at the characters in books.

If you’re looking for an entertaining beach, park, or fireplace read, The Gentleman’s Confession is for you! It’s got all the feels! And what is the moral of the story? When you’re looking for the perfect match to satisfy your grandmother’s dying wish? Trust your gut. Go with your first choice. Don’t overlook what’s right in front of you because the Matchmaking Mamas Society may not always get it right!
